  • Developed a new kitchen layout to maximize efficiency and storage and take in those beautiful views
  • Incorporated home’s original brick wall and paneling into the design
  • Blended the original home’s features such as the brick wall, original wood floors, and original wood and stained glass door
  • Worked around existing beam structures
  • Located a functional island with lots of storage
  • Made use of space beside stairs to maximize storage
  • Selected and coordinate all interiors finishes; cabinets, countertops, tiles, lighting, and re-staining the original wood floors

1800’s REDUX

This home’s original kitchen was so outdated it really needed some attention in order to live up to today’s requirements.  There was no ‘official’ place for a refrigerator, and especially not one of today’s proportions.  The other appliances had lived up to their best-before date and the Formica countertops were cracked and chipping.  Small windows were poorly located and did not take advantage of the beautiful view of the backyard and pond.  While the original kitchen did have a table and chairs, the chairs always seemed to be in the way when cooking in this kitchen.
