You can have the most beautiful house, beautiful room with amazing colours, finishes, and textures,  but if the lighting is bad the whole ambience of the room is thrown off as well as your appreciation for space and how you feel in the room.

If you are investing time, energy, effort and money in beautifying your home with furniture and art you’re going to want to show that off.  Enter lighting design – and yes it’s worth it!  

Lighting can make or break a space, no matter how big or small.  It’s important not only to enhance a beautiful room or home, but it’s an equally important investment for your health and well-being, overall comfort and performance.   

Different people require different lighting conditions no matter your age.  For example, some people are affected differently by light, either too much of it or not enough of it.  Glare can also be a problem for some people.  There are many, many things to consider when developing a lighting plan and that’s why you should always work with a professional to ensure you are investing wisely. 

With today’s lighting technology it’s easy to get what was once only available to the wealthy and high-end homes without breaking the bank.  Don’t get me wrong there is an investment to be made, depending on the level you want to play at, but it’s not nearly as expensive as it was 10 years ago.  

If you’re not into all the new tech gadgets or if that’s not in your budget, you should still consider working with a professional to ensure you’re putting your money in the right place. A well thought out lighting plan will last you for the life of your home.  Well placed fixtures, the right lamping with the right colour temperature and colour index WILL absolutely make a difference in your overall comfort and performance.
